American Dairy Association and Dairy Council,Inc.Text Box: The American Dairy Association and Dairy Council, Inc. (ADADC) is a non-profit corporation that is funded and directed by dairy farmers for the purpose of increasing the sales of milk and dairy products. ADADC operates in New York State, northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. The corporation conducts programs on behalf of dairy producers in the media, in schools, in retail outlets and working with Health Professionals. The American Dairy Association is affiliated with Dairy Management Inc. for the purpose of implementing a unified promotion and marketing plan throughout the United States. Dairy farmers check-off 15 cents per hundred weight of milk for promotion, and qualified organizations like ADADC utilize 10 cents of that money while 5 cents is spent by the National Dairy Board. There are 21 members of the Board of Directors for ADADC that are elected in local districts each year and the remaining 14 Directors are appointed by dairy or general farm organizations.
